I have known and worked with Vince Barabba for over thirty years. Throughout that time I have found him to be a man of conviction and commitment, with an unquestioned embrace of fairness.
As the former Chairman of the California Democratic Party and a legislator for twenty years, I have experienced and admired his willingness to seek consensus through bi partisanship in reaching answers to issues and solutions.
As director of the United States’ Census Bureau, Vince was always ready to resolve issues affecting low income and ethnic/racial neighborhoods and communities equitably and with dignity. Presidents of both parties respected his acumen and inclusiveness, not many in our nation can claim the same.
I support his appointment to the California Redistricting Commission and applaud his willingness to contribute in the public service of our great State of California.
