Dr. Mike Ward is a man of integrity and compassion. I have known Mike professionally and now am proud to call him my friend. It is with pleasure that I write this letter of support for Dr. Mike Ward. I have known Mike for a period of five years. During the time that I have known Mike, he has never ceased to amaze me with the type of person he is and the type of person he continues to strive to become. He sets high goals for himself and works relentlessly to achieve them. I have seen Mike work harder than most others because mediocrity will not suffice for him. Mike is motivated and tenacious in attaining his goals. He is the type of person that can accomplish his goals in spite of obstacles and has the ability to handle stress that accompanies balancing home, work and community involvement. He is the type of person who can listen with empathy and have unconditional positive regard for others. He enjoys helping others and is willing to give of himself in the process As a police lieutenant I am under constant scrutiny as to the character level of the people in which I associate. I am only writing this recommendation because I truly believe that Mike possesses the qualities and skills that are essential in being a successful commission member.
